Phoenix Gold's Exploration Projects

The Broads Dam Project comprises a package of tenements along the prolific Zuleika Shear which hosts several high-grade, multi-million ounce deposits with an endowment exceeding six million ounces.
Phoenix's Project hosts estimated Mineral Resources totalling approximately 377,000 ounces of gold with excellent potential for significant increases.  Most drilling conducted to date is only very shallow (<100m), however, the known deposits along the Zuleika all persist to far greater depths hence the potential for additional mineralisation to be identified at depth and along strike at Broads Dam is considered very good. Despite this potential, Phoenix's inital drilling in 2011 is the first exploration conducted in many years.

The Kunanalling Project straddles the Kunanalling Shear Zone, a prominent regional-scale structure, analogous to the Zuleika Shear, with documented gold occurrences along its entire length. Within the project area there are estimated Mineral Resources totalling approximately 245,000 ounces of gold.
Phoenix is exploring the Kunanalling Shear where historical mining activity and exploration results suggest the project area is highly prospective. This has been clearly deomonstrated by Phoenix's success at the Catherwood, Rayjax and Telegraph deposits.

The Ora Banda-Grants Patch Project comprises two groups of tenements centred on the highly endowed historical mining centres of Ora Banda and Grants Patch. Past production from both within and immediately surrounding the project area totals over 1 million oz of gold and within the project area there are estimated Mineral Resources totalling approximately 397,000 ounces of gold.
Previous explorers have recognised six styles of mineralisation occurring in the project area which can be readily translated into targets based on lithostructural interpretation of aeromagnetic imagery. Most of these target areas have been subjected to shallow first-pass drilling, however the project area is mostly covered by alluvial sheetwash and deep weathering rendering shallow drilling an ineffective test of these target areas.
This latent potential has been demonstrated at the Backflip prospect where follow-up drilling has produced high-grade gold intercepts beneath approximately 30m of cover. In fact, recent drilling and re-evaluation has defined a maiden resource of 1.5 million tonnes at 2.5g/t for 93,000 ounces for the Backflip deposit.

The Carbine-Zuleika Project along strike from the Broads Dam Project hosts an estimated Mineral Resources totalling approximately 141,000 ounces of gold at the Lady Jane and Carbine North prospects.
The project area has been subjected to very little exploration in recent times, with most drilling conducted to very shallow depths (<100m). However, the known deposits along the Zuleika all persist to far greater depths hence the potential for additional mineralisation to be identified at depth and along strike at Broads Dam is considered very good.
